Abstract
Blood glucose and insulin dysregulation can have a wide ranging impact on metabolic health, our hormones and ageing to name a few. Jessie provides a fascinating insight into how a personal trauma lead her to continuously monitor her blood glucose levels and how that revolutionised her life. She provides some interesting and evidence based hacks to help regulate blood glucose spikes so that people can still enjoy the food they love to eat in moderation. These include the order in which we eat our macronutrients, to drinking vinegar in water before a meal, to using our muscles after eating. It was highlighted everyone has a unique blood glucose response to food, so the pros and cons of continuous blood glucose monitoring are also discussed as well as some of the surprising impacts of alcohol, exercise, sleep and stress on our blood glucose regulation.
