Abstract
The aim of the research was to study the effect of the inclusion in the scheme cytoflavin patient care during the recovery period of ischemic stroke in the neuropsychological changes in the status and content of neurotrophins in serum. For this purpose we surveyed 52 patients who underwent a first ischemic stroke (29 women and 23 men) aged 52-74 years. Patients were divided into 2 groups: primary (25 patients) received in addition to basic therapy cytoflavin: intravenously at 20 ml per 400 ml of 5% glucose solution, 1 time a day for 10 days, then into 2 tablets 2 times a day for half an hour before food for a month, and the comparison group (27 patients) who received standard treatment. The control group consisted of 12 healthy people. In addition to standard clinical and laboratory tests were carried out a comprehensive neuropsychological study and evaluation of the data on the scale NIHSS, Bartell, Beck, Spielberger-Hanin, test «frontal dysfunction of the battery» and the Mini-Mental State Examination. Furthermore, determination carried neurotrophic factors: nerve growth factor (NGF) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor brain (BDNF). The study was conducted in the dynamics: before treatment and 2 months after treatment. Patients in the recovery period of the first ischemic stroke revealed moderate manifestations of neuropsychological disorders status and reduction of neurotrophic factors. Inclusion in cytoflavin scheme increased the efficiency of the treatment, which was manifested in a more pronounced when compared with the results of basic therapy, positive dynamics of neurological symptoms and improved cognitive function, accompanied by an increase in BDNF levels. The data on the efficacy and safety allow us to recommend its inclusion in the scheme of treatment of patients in the recovery period after the first carotid ischemic stroke.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy of cytoflavin in the treatment of hypoxic-ischemic lesions of the nervous system in young infants with transient neonatal hypothyroidism. MATERIAL AND METHODS Authors analyzed the efficacy of cytoflavin in the treatment of cerebral ischemia in the combination with transient neonatal hypothyroidism in 89 newborns. The main group comprised 43 children treated with intravenous cytoflavin in dose 2 ml per 1 kg of body weight per day for five days; 46 newborns of the comparison group received basic therapy. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION It was found that the moderate depression of motor activity and autonomic-visceral dysfunctions were the leading clinical neurological manifestations in these groups. In the main group, there was a significantly more rapid decline of hyperthyreotropinemia, indirect hyperbilirubinemia, reduced severity of cerebral ischemia by the results of neurosonography on the 5th or 6th day and regression of the main clinical symptoms compared to the control group. The positive neuroprotective and thyroid protective effect of cytoflavin, good tolerability and its compatibility with other drugs used in the standard treatment of hypoxic-ischemic lesions of the central nervous system were identified.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the dynamics of neurological and emotional disturbances in patients with dorsopathy treated with cytoflavin. MATERIAL AND METHODS We examined 120 patients aged from 21 to 55 years, mean age 38±9 years. All patients received nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drugs, myorelaxants, vitamins. The main group comprised 67 patients who received cytoflavin (10ml of the solution in one injection once a day in 200 ml of isotonic solution of sodium chloride intravenously in drops in the morning during 10 days) in addition to standard treatment. The comparison group included 53 patients who received standard treatment during 10 days. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION The use of cytoflavin allowed earlier arresting of the pain syndrome, restored the disturbed sensitivity, improved emotional status and decreased the severity of a neuropathic pain component.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the effect of cytoflavin on neurological functions, the level of independence in daily living tasks, psychoemotional condition and quality of life in poststroke patients. MATERIAL AND METHODS We have analyzed the results of treatment of 1450 stroke patients. Half of the patients received cytoflavin, and the other was treated without this drug. The functional rehabilitation was followed up using Barthel, Lindmark, Scandinavian and Merton and Sutton scales, psychoemotional condition was assessed with the Beck Depression Questionnaire and the Wakefield Depression Scale, quality of life - with the Sickness Impact Profile. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION Cytoflavin improved the recovery of neurological functions and social adaptation, normalized the psychoemotional condition and increased quality of life of poststroke patients.

Abstract
Clinical and pathogenetic efficacy of cytoflavin as a component of combined therapy of chronic brucellosis was tested in 50 patients who repeated its beneficial effect on the quality of life. The mechanism of cytoflavin action consists of lowering severity of endogenous intoxication and systemic inflammation.

Zhurnal nevrologii i psikhiatrii imeni S.S. Korsakova. 2011;(4):37-41
Abstract
Clinical-neurophysiological investigation of the efficiency of complex metabolic neuroprotector Cytoflavin in monotherapy was performed in 64 children of 4-8 years old with the minimal cerebral dysfunction. During the treatment other preparations were not used. Neurologic status, neurophysiological inspection, neuropsychophysiological and speech testing were performed before and after the course of treatment. Efficiency of Cytoflavin was established in children with the minimal cerebral dysfunction of preschool and early school age. By increasing a cerebral blood flow, improving parameters EEG and decreasing intracranial pressure, the drug had positive influence on the psycho-emotional and cognitive spheres, decreased asthenia syndrome, improving social adaptation of the children. Side-effects of Cytoflavin administration were not observed.

Zhurnal nevrologii i psikhiatrii imeni S.S. Korsakova. 2011;(1):27-32
Abstract
This work was conducted in the frames of a multicenter clinical trial. The aim was to study efficacy of cytoflavin (infusion solution) in the prevention and treatment of posthypoxic CNS lesions in premature newborns. The study included 120 premature newborns (gestation period 28-36 weeks) who was born in severe distress and needed the intensive therapy after primary reanimation measures. Cytoflavin was prescribed in the first 2-4 h after the delivery to 61 newborns. The control group included 59 newborns who did not receive the drug. To assess treatment efficacy, the determination of some plasma neurospecific proteins (GFAP, NSE, MBP) was carried out along with standard clinical/instrumental and laboratory monitoring. The results revealed the marked cerebroprotective effect of cytoflavin. The significantly higher rate of normalization of KOC, pO2, PCO2 and elimination of lactate acidosis that led to the reduction of severity and frequency of ischemic and hemorrhagic CNS lesions as well as lower levels of plasma neurospecific proteins were seen in the main group compared to the control one.

The efficacy of nicotinamide gel 4% as an adjuvant therapy in the treatment of cutaneous erosions of pemphigus vulgaris.

Dermatologic therapy. 2010;(3):308-11
Abstract
The high rate of morbidity and mortality resulting from long-term use of corticosteroids in pemphigus vulgaris (PV) warrants discovery of a new treatment strategy. Based on the pathophysiology of PV, nicotinamide can block the process of blister formation through its anti-inflammatory properties. This study was conducted to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of nicotinamide gel in the treatment of skin lesions of PV. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study, eight PV patients with a total of 60 skin lesions were treated by either nicotinamide or placebo gel. After 30 days of treatment, epithelialization index of the two groups was compared. The mean of the epithelialization index in skin lesions that received nicotinamide was significantly higher than that of the placebo group (26 vs. -5.8, p < 0.001). Our results were suggestive that nicotinamide gel can effectively be used as an adjunctive treatment for PV lesions.
