Abstract

Currently two types of MR imaging are used for the evaluation of osteoarthritic knees. One is to assess the status of knee joint as a whole such as Whole-Organ Magnetic Resonance Imaging Score (WORMS) ; the other is to assess the status of cartilage using specific sequences such as delayed gadolinium enhanced magnetic resonance imaging for cartilage (dGEMRIC) , T2 mapping, and T1 rho.
